The tales of Draguitarist

Biondi Noya is a passionate guitarist and musician that born on September 11th, 1989. He was primarily self-taught, but he also took some formal music education in Yamaha Music Indonesia for a year. He has been in the music scene for both indie & mainstream industry. He formed 2 bands that currently active, VAN JAVA & TRODON, and took important roles as the leader, composer & and guitar player. His taste in music is heavily influenced by video game music, movie soundtrack, and progressive rock. Thus, you can hear his taste implies heavily on his playing and his works, such as technical & imaginative.

VAN JAVA is his prog-jazz band, formed in 2007, has played on several major stages like LA Lights Indiefest 2009 as a top 10 finalist, Surabaya Jazztraffic Fest 2011, 2nd winner of Jakarta Indie Music Fest 2014, Ngayogjazz 2014, Festival Kota Lama Semarang 2015, Solo City Jazz 2015, & Java Jazz Festival 2015, not to mention other stages from community-based & school events. As for recordings, Van Java has been included on many compilations such as Born to Fight 2011, JIMS Compilation 2014, Indonesia Maharddhika 2014 (known as Indonesian Best Prog Band Compilation, which included legendary musician like Rick Wakeman-YES). Van Java has launched a debut album called FRAGMENT in 2016.

TRODON, on the other hand, is his prog-instrumental band that formed in late 2013. While Trodon existence is relatively new on the music scene, Trodon has proven to be unique among other bands. Trodon also played on many community-based stages, and some of the highlights are Salihara Jazz Buzz - Jazz Frontiers 2016, Solo International Performing Arts - Mahaswara 2016, Salihara Jazz Buzz - Jazz Frontiers 2018, and Artjog 2018.

Besides his activities with his bands, Biondi also works as a session guitar player. He worked with some local industry artists like William Gomez, Jane Shalimar, Risty Tagor, Echa Ayunda, Keenan Nasution, Paquita Wijaya, Ita Purnamasari, Roni Sianturi, Fariz RM, Andy /rif, Once Mekel, Mike Muliadro & Fiona Callaghan. As a music composer and director in the commercial field, Biondi also did jingles for various commercial products, such as Asuransi Wahana Tata & Holdak just to name a few. Another music score experience, he did the music score for Hati Ke Hati 2013 cinema movie and some other non-commercial movie projects. He was also one of the music directors in his church; mentoring many young musicians for Sunday services and composing and conducting music for his church ensemble/mini-orchestra team.

He also has his instrumental solo project as both composer & player. His unique video-game-movie-ish style is also something remarkable, as his songs have been air played regularly since 2011 up until now in a program called Friday Night Progressive, AOLMP Radio, indie radio based in New York, America. 

With such experiences in performing & composing, he also dedicated himself to be a music teacher. He starts teaching guitar as a private teacher in 2010, up until now. He's currently teaching in music schools like Gita Svara & Music Temple, handling music classes (private & band) in Jakarta Intercultural School, doing International Music Workshop 2014 along with Nita Artzen, Marcello Alluli & Israel Varela at Purnomo Music School Semarang, ensemble conductor for Nalia Cantata Music School Cikarang 2015 & 2016, ensemble and band trainer on GKI Kebayoran Baru & GKI Cikarang, and some other home private lessons. He covers students of various ages, ranging from kids to adults.

Biondi’s experiences developed him to be strong and competent in areas such as Music Composer, Music Director, Music Teacher & Guitar Player. These 4 areas are needed in the professional field that is related to both entertainment and education.
